Week 3

Recovering from my concussion, the start of the week was still a bit challenging.

I had football practice on both Monday and Wednesday, and overall, it went smoothly.

On Tuesday, I went for a run that included some elevation gain. Here are the stats:

I took a rest day on Thursday due to a headache, which I suspected might still be lingering from the concussion.

The weekend, however, turned out fantastic! On Friday, I kicked things off with a bike ride and shattered personal records at 10, 20, 30, and 40 kilometers.

Saturday morning, I shattered my swim record for 1,500m, clocking in at an impressive 42:31 minutes. It’s exciting to see such progress, especially considering I only started learning to swim properly three months ago.

Later in the afternoon, I hopped on my bike for another ride and managed to set a new personal best for 50 kilometers.

It felt incredible to break personal records in both brick units this week!

On Sunday, I kept it light with a 6.5 km run in Zone 1, saving energy for the afternoon football match. Unfortunately, we lost, but I played the full 90 minutes, which felt great from a fitness perspective.

Now, it’s time to gear up for an exciting week ahead—my first race week since starting this training block!

Weekly Plan:

  • Monday & Wednesday: Football practice
  • Tuesday: Brick unit day—10 km run followed by a 1,500m swim after work
  • Thursday: Gym session
  • Friday: Bike ride
  • Saturday: Football match
  • Sunday: Race Day! Half Marathon in Wels, Austria

I’m feeling confident and aiming to finish the half marathon in under 1:40. Just how much faster? We’ll find out soon!

Feel free to share any suggestions you have for improving my training or enhancing my blog. Your feedback is always welcome!
