Welcome, everyone, to Try Beyond!

I had planned to launch this blog back in January, but I ran into some challenges while setting up the webpage. Thankfully, with a little help from my friend Daniel, everything is finally up and running. Here’s a quick recap of what’s been happening in January and February!

In January, I was fully committed to preparing for my very first Marathon, which was scheduled to take place in Bad Füssing on the 2nd of February. My training was intense and heavily focused on running to build endurance and stamina for the big day. In addition to running, I incorporated swimming exercises into my routine, as improving my swimming skills has been my biggest personal challenge and an area where I needed substantial progress. Over the course of the month, I managed to log a total of 143 kilometers, dedicating 37 hours to my training efforts.

February kicked off with a major milestone in my journey. I completed my very first marathon, crossing the finish line with a time of 3:49:48. It was an incredible experience and a moment I’ll always remember. The very next day, I treated myself to a new racing bike—a CUBE Attain SLX C62. Along with all the necessary equipment, the investment totaled 3,300,- €. As for my training efforts this month, I managed to log 317 kilometres, dedicating a total of 37 hours to my workouts. The addition of the bike definitely contributed to boosting my kilometre count, and I’m excited to see how it enhances my future training sessions.

Let’s dive into the key takeaways and wrap up last weeks training.

Monday, March 3rd: I only had a football training session.

Tuesday: Went to the pool and completed 32 laps (1.6 kilometers).

Wednesday: Another football training session.

Thursday: Rest day with a light Yoga session.

Friday: Played 75 minutes in a football match but had to stop due to circulation issues.

Saturday: Despite feeling fatigued, I managed a 65 km bike ride in 2 hours and 47 minutes. In the afternoon, I swam 1.3 km in 42 minutes. By evening, fatigue really set in, and I considered skipping Sunday’s training.

Sunday: I felt slightly better in the morning, so I completed 4×4 Norwegian Sprints (pace details in the picture). However, I skipped the afternoon cycling session as I started feeling really unwell.

As it turns out, I’ve come down with the flu and will need to take a break moving forward.

I originally planned to attend football training on Monday and go swimming on Tuesday, but I need to listen to my body. If I’m feeling better, I’ll reschedule football training for Wednesday and hit the gym on Thursday. Friday is game day, so I’ll be focused on my football match.

On Saturday, I’m heading to Munich to catch the 1860 match, leaving me with limited time. However, I might squeeze in a quick morning run before heading out. Sunday will be reserved for a longer bike ride and making up the swim session I missed earlier in the week. It’s shaping up to be a slower week, but prioritizing my health comes first.

Feel free to share any suggestions you have for improving my training or enhancing my blog. Your feedback is always welcome!
